Purification of our Body, Mind, Spirit is the first step in our practice. In recent years, it is medically proven that meditation helps to improve the health of our body. As we become healthier, our mind becomes sharper and our spirit becomes more joyful.
Through meditation, it also helps us to control the desires of our mind, such as craving, anger, attachment, arrogance and suspicion. (or CAAAS)
As we know, an agitated mind disrupts the reasonalbe functions of our daily chores. In turn, our spiritual well-being in relastionships, workplace and everyday lives deteriorates. This deterioration creates a negative cycle, turning our own perspectives to more negativity. Such reversal of attitudes causes us to be trapped in forever illusion of self righteousness and unhappiness.
When in such situation, it will take multitudes of effort to reverse its direction.
Thus, as we have a handle on our CAAAS, Craving, Anger, Attachment, Arrogance, Suspicion, we need to work on the purification of our Actions, Words and most importantly Intentions.
Only then, we can improve our relationships and spiritual well-being.
As we practice more dilligently, we will experience a deeper meaning of "purification". It becomes an absolute detachment of everything. Yes everything.
Purification is no longer a teaching or objective. As our practice deepens, puritifcation is a state of being, a state of absolute detachment. Yet it is alive, joyful and timeless.
Detachment from emotions and mental construct is just the beginning. Detachment from languages and sutra, detachment from all forms, and detachment from all karma are stages we can witness as we deepen our practice.
In due course, every experience is a new frontier which is fun and rewarding.
Practice and you shall witness.
