When we awake to the emptiness of five Skandhas, in sync with suchness at every moment, we are in sync with the wisdom of the universe.

Wisdom in the universal sense is not knowledge.  It is not something to be received, possessed, obtained.  Wisdom is a synchronization to the intelligent life force of the universe.

Connection to the universal wisdom and resonate with it requires us to clean ourselves first - purifying the karma of our body, mind and spirit.

Then we're awaken to the fact that our "self" is an illusion, because the recognition of self is but a collective perception of our five senses - vision, hearing, smell, taste, feel.  These senses are all but transient, relative to every moment and impermanence.

There are many definitions of wisdom or "prajna" in the Buddhist sutras.  Platform Sutra for instance stated, "Wisdom is from the heart, only when the heart is resident nowhere."  Wisdom in the Chan teaching differentiate itself from the Buddhist definitions only in terminologies.

In other words, instead of talk, or teach or describe what wisdom is or how to attain it, true teachers encourage a direct experience.  A direct connection to the life force and wisdom of universe is the most effective way to be synchronized to and resonate with it.  And this direct experience is only possible through Chi based meditation practice.  Otherwise, it is just an off-and-on mental balance exercise.  Without our internal life force, Chi, we can not sync to the universal life force, or universal Chi at a consistent level.  Just sitting without Chi is what we called Withered Zen in our school.

Studying the sutras or listening to the teachings without cultivating Chi will never ever synchronize us to the wisdom of the universe.
