About Us
Chan Center is a registered non-profit educational organization operating in California under the IRS code 501(C)3 since 2000.
Initially, we began with only one teacher from Taiwan Chan Educational Foundation and two students from Los Angeles. We have since conducted numerous activities with the support of a team of volunteers and reciprocating instructors serving primarily the Chinese community until 2010.
Taiwan Chan Educational Foundation was founded by Chan Master Teacher Wu Jue Miao-Tian in 1988 with the mission to help everyone live a life of health, harmony and happiness.
There are presently more than thirty Chan centers and several other facilities throughout Taiwan offering courses teaching a Chan lifestyle to people of all religions and vocations in society.
Over 100,000 people have benefited from the Chan lifestyle and improved their lives.
In addition to these Chan centers, we have also established over one hundred Chan clubs in different private and public organizations, including major corporations, schools and universities, government agencies, drug and alcohol rehabs and community centers.
Chan classes are also offered in several other countries, among them are U.S., Canada, New Zealand and mainland China.
Chan Retreats For Students
We now operate Chan Clubs in 52 universities in Taiwan as well as at USC in Los Angeles , UC Davis and UC Berkeley.
