Practice Of Surpassing

I have been hearing our Teacher's talk about "surpassing" for many years.  Until only recent few months, I have come to realize that my experience about "surpassing" or "transcending" was rather limited.

  • I initially understood this term at its face value - surpassing my habits.
  • Then I realized that I should surpass my thoughts.
  • Then I realized that I should surpass my favorite quotations.
  • Then I realized that I should surpass whatever I hold on to as right, correct or absolute.
  • Then I realized that I should surpass whatever I felt comfortable.
  • Then I realized that I should surpass whatever state, accomplishment or phenomenon I reach.
  • Then I realized that I should surpass everything continuously until enlightenment.

This was my journey from a single word from my Teacher.

I am so grateful.
