Sitting Practice (1)

Pause & Observe

Written by

Lineage Chan practices gradually into sudden awakening. It is composed of two parallel practices, "stop" and "observe". As we sit, we eradicate the three karmic blockade - our desire, forms and formless. And simultaneously let our inner wisdom unfold.

Sit to stop thinking. Stop our mental activities, while we observe our mind and inner self. The essence of Linage Chan is really formless. This practice begins with our Inner Self. When our Inner Self arises, our conscious mind automatically stops functioning. Platform Sutra by the Sixth Patriach stated, "There is only one way - observe our mind."
