The first retreat center established in the United States, Sacred Light Mountain (SLM), provides the opportunity for people to experience Chan and deepen their practices in a safe, fun, non-stressful environment through multi-day retreats, teachers’ training, classes, and workshops that includes activities such as:

• Flower Arranging
• Calligraphy
• Traditional Ink Painting
• Contemplative Walking
• Reading and Research
• Guided Sitting Meditation
• Other related activities led by guest intructors

SLM offers periodic meditation, Tai Chi, calligraphy, and flower arrangement classes on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Be sure to check out our facebook page for the latest info and offerings, and never hesitate to drop by whenever you get the chance!

The center also offers Introduction to Chan Meditation retreats year round. If you wish to attend one or more scheduled retreats this year be sure to check out the retreat information and policies before submitting an application online. The recommended donation per weekend retreat for practitioners who are not regular contributors to one of our centers will be $225 per bunkbed/dorm room.

Practitioners are also welcome to apply for silent or private retreats. Please submit an online application and contact SLM office for scheduling details.
